Bathroom Cleaning And Non Slip Bathroom Flooring Tips

All of us have bathrooms, and they all get dirty and have to be cleaned, so bathroom cleaning supplies are an essential thing to have on hand. If you have a large family, then that bathroom will frequently be used, and bathroom cleaning supplies can be used to ensure that it stays sanitary and clean.

What kind of supplies do you need?
If you are going shopping for bathroom cleaning supplies for your home bathroom, then you will need some basic supplies. These can include things such as brushes, scouring pads, sponges, and mops. You will also need bleach, spray cleaners, toilet bowl cleaners, glass cleaner and other cleaning supplies.

Each one of these bathroom cleaning supplies is used for a specific purpose. For instance, the glass cleaner can be used to clean the mirror, and the chrome in the bathroom and the toilet cleaner is for cleaning the toilet.

How often should you clean?
Bathrooms should be cleaned with bathroom cleaning supplies at least once a week, plus if necessary in-between. You should clean it as often as needed to be sure it is free of germs and is sanitary. If you do a good job, then it will get easier as you go along since most of the main grime and dirt will be kept at bay.

Why should I keep it clean?
It is necessary to use bathroom cleaning supplies to keep your bathroom clean so it won’t be full of bacteria and other germs that can make people in the house get sick. Plus it makes the bathroom smell nice and clean and become more inviting than a dirty, scummy bathroom would be. If your bathroom is kept clean, then it will reflect on your housekeeping skills and everyone will have a pleasant visit to the most used room in the house.

What about public bathrooms?
Public bathrooms are used by many more people than your home bathroom, so they are harder to clean. To clean these public bathrooms, you need to use commercial bathroom supplies. These are stronger than the cleaning supplies you use in your sweet bathrooms and will ensure that all the general germs are gone.

Public bathrooms must be cleaned daily using these commercial bathroom supplies so that they are safe for everyone to use when needed. These are used hundreds of times a day, so it is a hard job for the janitors or housekeeping people. We all should thank them and try to make their job easier by cleaning up after ourselves in public bathrooms.

How do I clean the bathroom?
When using bathroom cleaning supplies, you should wear rubber gloves because some of these products are harsh on the skin. You may also require wearing a mask as some may have strong odors or be toxic if inhaled too deeply. You should also keep all bathroom cleaning supplies out of the reach of small children who might try to drink the cleaning supplies and get poisoned. Some supplies may be toxic to your health and skin.

Be sure to wear gloves and masks if you are sensitive to strong chemicals. Keep these cleaning supplies in a pail and place them in a storage area or under the sink, so that the next time you clean the bathroom, you have everything in place, which will save you time and effort.

There are, however, eco-friendly types of bathroom cleaning supplies that you can buy that are less likely to harm you or your children. These still should be kept out of the reach of the children or pets though because you never know if they could be harmed and it isn’t worth finding out.

No one enjoys cleaning bathrooms with bathroom cleaning supplies because it is usually a smelly and unsanitary place, especially if you have to use commercial bathroom supplies and clean the public bathrooms. If you want this task to be easier, then be sure to add some preventive maintenance to your bathroom cleaning duties. If you and your family are clean as you go, then the weekly big cleaning won’t be so much of a chore.

Be sure to wipe down the sink and faucets when you are done and be sure always to flush the commode when you are finished. Hang up all wet towels and make sure not to spray water on the floor when you take a shower. Hand a new roll of tissue if you use it all up. These little things will make keeping your bathroom clean with bathroom cleaning supplies easier and more pleasant.
All in all, bathrooms are everywhere, and they all must be kept clean with bathroom cleaning supplies or commercial bathroom supplies.

Non Slip Bathroom Flooring

Nonslip bathroom flooring is essential if you wish to ensure the safety of your home and family.  When you consider that most accidents occur in the home and that most of those occur either in the kitchen or the bathroom, it becomes clear that choosing to install non-slip bathroom flooring can make a significant difference in your family’s safety.

Why do You Need Non-Slip Bathroom Flooring?
Except wall-to-wall carpeting (an easy but impractical choice for a bathroom) most bathroom floors are of some hard, non-porous material such as linoleum, tile or marble.  These kinds of surfaces are notoriously slippery, especially when wet and, in a bathroom, the chances of the surface of the floor being wet are fairly high.  And of course, the more slippery a surface is, the better your chances of you or a family member losing your balance and taking a spill that could result in significant injury.

There are three ways to avoid injuries related to slippery floor surfaces in the bathroom; choosing to install non-slip bathroom flooring when building or remodeling your home, choosing to install non-slip bathroom flooring over your existing floors, or choosing to treat existing flooring with a treatment that will make it less slippery.

Choices in Non-Slip Bathroom Flooring
If you are developing a home from scratch or are remodeling your current bathroom, you can, of course, choose to install non slip bathroom floorings such as pre-treated ceramic tiles or rubber flooring squares that will not only resist mold and mildew, but will provide a nonslip standing and walking surface as well.  Choosing new non-slip bathroom flooring can be an excellent choice, especially if you have young children or older persons in your household who may need the extra traction that a nonslip surface can provide them.

Then, of course, some mats can be purchased to roll out over your existing flooring.  These mats may not be as pretty as the original flooring of your bathroom, but they can go a long ways towards ensuring that you minimize the risk of accidents.

Another choice is in having existing flooring such as ceramic tile work treated to make it slip resistant.  There are a variety of methods that enable existing floors to be treated.  Some include grinding down the surface of existing tiles or surfaces and then treating them with a slip-resistant chemical, while others include coating the existing flooring with certain kinds of chemical treatments that turn them into non-slip or slip-resistant surfaces.

While making your bathroom floors skid resistant or slip-proof can be a bit of an investment, the peace of mind that comes with knowing that slipping and falling in the bathroom is not something likely to occur can be worth the price of making your bathroom safe.  Installing nonslip bathroom flooring can, in fact, be considered to be an investment not just in your peace of mind, but in the future and safety of your family as well.
